R&D and product development

R&D projects and technology research.

We run technology scans, feasibility studies, proofs of concept and grant-ready R&D.

An R&D project answers a technical question whose outcome is not known in advance, through systematic experiments, and turns what it learns into a new product or process.

01 / Definition

What are R&D projects and technology research?

Technology research is the first step: it reviews current methods and tools to establish whether an idea is technically possible and by which route. At Meybrain Technologies we work on software and AI projects from that first research through proofs of concept, grant-ready work plans and technical reporting.

Uncertainty is what separates R&D from an ordinary software project. "Can we build this screen?" has a known answer. "Can this model handle Turkish technical documents accurately enough?" can only be answered by trying. Well-run R&D also surfaces a negative result early, and documents it.

02 / Audience

Who it is for.

  • Companies with an idea whose technical feasibility is unclear.
  • Businesses planning grant-funded R&D (in Türkiye, for example through TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB or development agencies) that need a software or AI development partner.
  • Innovation and R&D teams in larger companies testing new technologies.
  • University–industry collaborations that need a team for the software side.
  • International companies looking for an R&D partner in Türkiye.

03 / Deliverables

What we deliver.

  • 01

    Technology scan

A comparative summary of current methods, open-source tools and commercial options.

  • 02

    Feasibility report

The route to prototype and product if results are positive.

04 / Process

How the work runs.

  1. 01

    Frame the question

What is unknown, and how success will be measured.

  2. 02

    Literature and technology scan

How the problem has been approached and which tools are mature.

  3. 03

    Feasibility and risk

Options compared, the riskiest assumption identified.

  4. 04

    Proof of concept

That assumption tested in a short, focused experiment.

  5. 05

    Evaluation

    Results reported with their measurements.

  6. 06

    Decision

Stop, change direction or move to product, decided together.

05 / Grants

Working with grant programmes.

Programmes in Türkiye that can fund software and AI R&D include TÜBİTAK's 1501 Industrial R&D Projects programme, the 1507 SME R&D Start-up programme and the 1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem call. The second 2026 calls of 1501 and 1507 were open on 13 October 2026; the 2026 call of 1711 closed on 2 October 2026.

Regional development agencies also run periodic calls. KOSGEB's R&D, Product Development and Innovation Support Programme was closed to applications on 13 October 2026.

In 1501 and 1507 you are the applicant and the beneficiary; in 1711 the roles are set out in the call text. We contribute to the technical content, work packages and software development budget lines, and work as your development partner during the project. Conditions change from call to call, so we check the current terms on the official pages with you before applying.

06 / Technology

Technology choices.

In R&D the tool follows the question. In AI work we compare models on the same dataset and the same metrics, building our own evaluation set where needed. In software work we measure performance, scaling or integration unknowns with small, targeted test rigs. Every experiment is recorded reproducibly, with code, data version and results, which both reporting and productisation depend on.

07 / Example

Examples from our work.

We took our own products from idea to launch ourselves. İmarsal grew from the idea of combining zoning lookup, floor-area calculation and feasibility, normally separate specialisms, into one flow that starts from a block and parcel number; it is in launch preparation. Kentsel Dönüşüm AI, an assistant answering property owners' questions on urban-renewal regulation, is live on the web and the App Store. On BeinStory we connected a content model of books, characters and authors to AI-assisted conversation.

These products show that we have taken uncertain ideas through to live products on our own budget. See them in our portfolio.

08 / Pricing

Pricing model.

We price R&D stage by stage, and you decide at the end of each whether to continue:

  • 01

    Feasibility and technology research

    Fixed price.

  • 02

    Proof of concept

A fixed-price stage with time and scope capped by the feasibility findings.

  • 03

    Grant-funded R&D project

A proposal shaped to the programme's budget structure and work packages.

Cost depends on the degree of technical uncertainty, data and hardware needs, the number of experiments and reporting obligations.

Each stage is priced in a written, itemised quote after a short call.

09 / Questions

Frequently asked questions.

  1. 01

What is the difference between technology research and an R&D project?

Technology research is the preliminary study of how, and with what risks, an idea could work. An R&D project follows it, removing uncertainty through experiments and producing a result. Most projects start with research.

  2. 02

Do you submit the grant application for us?

No. In programmes such as 1501 and 1507 you are the applicant; in 1711 the call text sets the roles. We contribute to the technical content, work packages and development budget lines, and work as your development partner if the project is funded.

  3. 03

How do we find out whether our idea is technically feasible?

Through a short feasibility study that ends with a written report on options, risks and a recommended route. Where needed, we test the riskiest assumption with a small proof of concept.

  4. 04

What if the results are negative?

A negative result is still a finding, and learning it early protects a much larger investment. We report it with the reasons and suggest alternatives where they exist.

  5. 05

    Who owns the intellectual property?

Intellectual property and licensing are set in each project's contract. For funded projects, we reflect the programme's own rules in the contract too.
